We had over 100 people at the premier last night. The first few arrived before 6 pm and we turned out the lights after 9.30 pm. It was wonderful to re-connect with cast and crew and a big thank you to all the friends and family who came to support us.

Photos of the premier will be posted in a few days.

Spade is officially launched into the world. News about festival submissions will be posted here over the next few months.

I have never, EVER written a fan letter but as I sit down to type this, I’m realizing that’s exactly what this is. Ever since I read The Spade of Reason several years ago I’ve been struck, or rather, haunted by the depths to which the mind and the universe are connected. Our mind/universe relationship (or rather, our relationship with the universal mind) had existed around the edges of my consciousness for years until it hit me with full force upon reading Jim’s amazing story.
As you might imagine, I was ecstatic upon hearing that a film has been adapted and is premiering soon. Congratulations!! I also wanted to send you a song I wrote and recorded a couple of years ago. My solo musical project is called Skyjelly and The 6 Is Silent was one of the first tunes I recorded on (inspired, of course, by Mr. Cowan’s phenomenal writing). I hope you and Jim enjoy it!

I wanted to reach out to you because I just rediscovered my copy of Century magazine that has your Spade of Reason story in it. I was very interested to see your website that said you’re making an indie film out of the story. I didn’t see anything on the site that was newer than anything from last year. Has the film been completed?

Anyway, I really enjoyed the story. And that copy of Century has been one of the few books I have kept since I began divesting myself of books over the last several years.

Reese is currently playing Michael Banks in Mary Poppins on Broadway. Check out Reese’s activities on his web page or on his page on Facebook.

Since playing Caxton in Spade Reese has play Chip in Disney’s national tour of Beauty and the Beast, and Michael Banks in Disney’s national tour of Mary Poppins, and is now playing Michael Banks in the Broadway production of this show.

South Side Film Festival

“Spade” has been submitted to the 2012 South Side Film Festival that runs from June 12th through June 16th on the south side of Bethlehem.

We should hear something from SSFF by April 15th.
